Librarian
Module Purpose
The Librarian module manages software licenses; it provides the technical means for a cybercafe to install a game or other piece of commerical software on every station, and then configure those stations with licenses (CD-keys, etc.) only when a customer actually wants to use it on a particular station; the Librarian then de-configures the license when the customer is finished, making the license again available for use on another station. This allows a cybercafe to purchase the number of licenses based on the maximum number of simultaneous users they expect for a piece of software, instead of for the total number of stations in the cafe (i.e. it's a lot less expensive).
Note that the while the license terms for some commerical software permits this sort of use, some software licenses do not allow it. It is the responsibility of any cybercafe using this module to determine whether whether or not they are contractually allowed to use the Librarian module with any specific piece of commercial software.
Responsibility for the use of the Librarian module rests with the cybercafe that installs and uses it. Please consult with an attorney to determine the appropriateness of using the Librarian module in your cybercafe.
