Cacti
- A complete graphic performance monitoring package, based on RRDTool and written in PHP. Cacti lets you setup automatic monitoring of any device, process, or program, and then, also automatically, draws very nice graphs of how everything is performing.
-
PHP-Nuke
- PHP-Nuke is an open source content management system (CMS) that can be used by a cybercafe to create a website. It's very easy to customize and to integrate with Fun-o-Matic, but these ease of hacking is paid for with a lower coding quality than Plone.
-
Plone
- Plone is an open source content management system (CMS) that can be used by a cybercafe to create a website. It's a good deal more robust and "philosophically pure" than PHP-Nuke, at the expense of having a steeper learning curve if you want to program extensions, such as Fun-o-Matic integration. This website is built using Plone.
-
Squid
- An caching HTTP proxy server; this is just the ticket if a cybercafe want to be able to restrict their customers from being able to access to some websites (porn, for example). See also SquidGuard, also in this list (Squid plus SquidGuard together provide a complete web filtering solution).
-
SquidGuard
- An add-on for Squid (see also in this list) that facilities blocking large numbers of websites by category, and to exchange lists of inappropriate websites with other SquidGuard users, such as other cybercafes, libraries, schools, and so on.
