Welcome to Fun-o-Matic
This website is still in the process of being set up; we're not ready for prime time yet!
Fun-o-Matic consists of a set of modular programs useful to cybercafes that are freely available for use under the terms of the Mozilla Public License (MPL). (Technically, they are "triple-licensed": you get your choice of using the MPL, the GPL, or the LGPL).
The Fun-o-Matic modules are designed to be used in a mix-and-match fashion: while there are some cross-dependencies, you can largely pick and choose which modules you want to use to match the functionality you want.
There are currently modules for monitoring and remotely controlling a group of PCs, for saving customer configuration files for games and other programs onto a central server, and for producing statistical reports. Modules are under development for tracking customer accounts, for doing software license management, and for a customer interface "shell". Additionally, we plan to make available various other useful programs available that aren't part of the Fun-o-Matic suite proper, such as software for producing leader boards tracking customer scores in popular games.
The next big update coming for Fun-o-Matic will be the initial release of fomManager, the module that integrates all other modules of the project together with a customer database. fomManager is being developed using the Ruby on Rails framework.
We are actively interested both in finding volunteer developers to work on this project, and for cybercafes that would like to use this software and provide us with feedback.
